The Presentation

Somebody I care about, you know, they told me a story not too terribly long ago about the time they were walking on the trail, and I'm not saying anything about this particular place here, there's no subtext to that, simply that I am out on the trail looking into the underbrush and I'm thinking about the story they told, and I think about what happened with the tallies. Uncensored, and it was walking down the trail, this person that I care about, she described, all of a sudden this man came out of the bush and he started, he didn't have any shoes on, and he just asked me if I know about Jesus, if I 'm a Christian, and if I'm 18, and like, and then she scur ried, you know, she just said, I'm under 18, you know, it was, it was, and then she walked away, but she didn't make, you know, she had to stay calm, she had to stay cool, she had to stay collected, she had to stay calm, she had to stay calm, she had to stay calm, she had to not react, and she did all of that, I mean , she did, you know, she navigated a weird situation, who knows, maybe it was just, but you don't know, you don't know, you don't know who's hiding in the bush, you don't know who the spiders are, and how many times have I walked down the path, but because of, because I'm not interesting, I'm not a woman, girl, and I'm just big enough to look like I'd be a problem, or just got a grumpy enough face that they just don't want to deal with my stuff, I'll probably start crying and telling them my life story, um, but, uh, you know, trying to, small here, but, you know , and, and, and his men facing, you know, did they even realize, did that guy even realize, uh, how weird he was, was, was he planning that, was he just, uh, but, um, or he was just hopped up on something, or would it be like, what happened with a, um, uh, certain, uh, Vitale, unc ensored guy, where he popped out, and, um, um, on somebody on a trail, and he, he beat him up, and, uh , the only reason I even know this, is because I was working at SK, when he did, and it was a really weird time, and I'm not out here to, point fingers, everybody was in a really rough situation, but, um, what I do want to talk about is, the, ramifications, you know, the waves, they, they go out, that are, uh, invisible, and that, uh, sometimes, you know, the harm we cause, causes a tsunami, for somebody else, and, uh, that, they were always, a woman, it was the target, and, uh, I'm not standing here as some uber-feminist guy, who understands the plight of women, but I do understand the dichotomy of power, duality of power, whatever, and opportunists, and the opportunities that they're seeking, and that it isn't even a conscious thing to say I have the privilege of being a man, but that I actually, in a way, have the privilege of, well, not being the target of, of their, the opportunity that they're seeking, to take advantage of, to leverage. opportunists. I, I don't have all the words, I don't have all the ideas, but I do have an awareness, that I've been in situations, where I know, that the person, that I was depending upon, didn't, have the same, risk, um, associated with, the outcome of their actions, and that, they, they, yeah, sure, maybe they went to prison for a little while, but they're back to being millionaires again, from what I understand.

Um, I, I know what it's like, to be, in that situation, so, when I hear, about, women talking about this, I can logically reason, out that, yeah, I, I know, you know, I, I'm, I'm a guy, I, I, I, I, like, I, these idiots, like, I, I, unfortunately, I can't imagine what they, they're, whatever the hell they're thinking, um, and, and, and know that I've met guys, that were like that, and just, day to day, and they were idiots, um, but, uh, you know, the ones that hide it, the ones that are, never showed it to you, because you weren't the one that they, wanted to get something from, and whether that's, your object of desire is, is a human being, or some actual object, um, it's usually about power, but, yeah, just walking this trail here, and realizing that, when the person I care about, walks this trail, uh, it's a much different experience for her, not because, again, because this place, it's not this place, it's not this place, it's that she's been out on the trail, enough times, where something weird happened, where some guy came out of nowhere, and approached her, and made her feel, a little scared, a little bit vulnerable, and that is, too much, so, yeah, I, I wish I had a pithy, ending to this, but it's, it's a predicament, that, we have to face our own, actions in the past, our own, thoughts, our own ways of, of approaching things, and understanding that, the trail you walk, it's not necessarily, the trail somebody else walks, even though the scenery, looks the same, so, that's, my big, deep thought, okay, thank you very much, alright, bye. Thank you.
