WHOIS Tech Community archive

WITC Archive Atlas

A horizontal map of recording, community events, captioning, preservation, and later curation. Select an era, then open a series to follow its evidence trail.

How this relates to the Timeline: the Timeline is the full career and life waterfall. This Atlas is its explorable WITC projection, where archive threads can be read alongside career, technology, and community layers.

Think atlas, not index.

The archive is a place with landmarks, orbits, crossings, and quiet space between signals. There is a little VRML and Second Life in the instinct: do not flatten a world into a list when people can navigate it as a place.

Epochs

Parallel history

Each lane is a different kind of time. The archive becomes easier to understand when production and preservation do not occupy the same lane.

Reading the distance: the map is deliberately wider than the viewport. A quiet interval is still information. It can show preparation, recovery, or time when the work was happening elsewhere.
